We’re Getting Married!
We CAN’T WAIT TO have you join us in celebration in one of our favorite places.
OUR STORY
As most of you know, we met as camp counselors at Camp Chi-Da-Ca the Summer before high school (circa 2012). The park where the camp is held is actually where Nate proposed! We quickly became close friends and ended up in Student Government together at Chico High where Nate always asked to team up on poster making and proceeded to do NONE of the work. Lizzie knows this was just an excuse to hang out. In the Spring of our Freshman year, Nate was dared by some senior girls in StuGo to kiss Lizzie and the rest is history!
After high school, we consciously decided to go to different colleges so we could have our own experiences. The short 1-hour distance felt long due to our busy schedules and Nate not having a car on campus, but we always made it work and valued any moments we had together. (Shoutout to Josh Portnoy for letting Nate borrow your car often!)
After college, we managed to be in the same place (Irvine) for one FULL year (thanks to COVID Lizzie was able to work remotely) but then embarked on another round of long-distance once Lizzie moved to Sacramento in the Summer of 2021. Two years and many Southwest flights back and forth later, Nate was able to go remote for his work at Transcluence Biosystems and moved to Sacramento to support Lizzie in her capitol-bound career. We’ve lived in East Sacramento since and have treasured the opportunity to share a home and see each other every day.
Nate proposed in Chico where we first met on December 14, 2024, and Lizzie proposed back on January 3, 2025, on the bluffs at sunset in Mendocino. Strangely enough, we saw full rainbows (edge to edge) on both proposal days. (Seems like a good sign!)
Looking back on the last twelve years, we are so grateful to our younger selves for our persistence to make things work while still allowing the space to grow as individuals. Thank you to all our friends and family for your endless love and support over these many years!
